Kaka Confirms Departure from Orlando City

Former Real Madrid and AC Milan star Kaka says that he is set to return to Brazilian football where it all began for him.

The last player to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or award apart from the duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka is regarded as one of the finest Brazilian players in the last two decades. He has been with Orlando City since 2014. Even though his time with the MLS outfit has been on and off due to a niggling injuries, he has made a reasonable impact in the competition. Kaka would have liked to have made the same impact as David Beckham, but he has not come close to such a high standard.

He will be making a return to Brazilian football and is likely to be with São Paulo. Kaka’s career started with the Brazilian outfit in 2001, but he spent only two seasons with the club before moving onto AC Milan. The Italian outfit paid a whopping € 8.5 million for the player back in 2003, a transfer fee that they have since not regretted even the slightest.

Kaka went on to become one of the greatest players and help with the club win the 2007 Champions League title. He was also crowned as the FIFA Ballon d’Or award winner later that year.

He then moved to Madrid for £ 64 million where he spent four years before coming to Orlando."The next season will be my last here. If I then go to play football elsewhere I do not know, but when I do, it'll be with Sao Paulo.I'll go into each case no longer opting for the big money. You have to have a purpose at the club where you play. To sit down and watch your bank account doesn't make you happy," said Kaka.
